A teacher or material will teach you the basic scales that will enable you to easily play any song you want or heard. A few basic chord structures will also be thrown in the first stage of your lessons with a song or two to practice on.

Buying a cheap electric guitar can save you a lot of money, especially if you are a beginner guitar player with a limited budget. This article will explain how you can look for a cheap electric guitar.

Before you whip out your wallet to buy that “bargain”, you have seen on the internet or even at your local second hand store, consider the following.

Buying a second hand brand name guitar like Gibson, Ibanez or Yamaha might be the worst investment you will ever make. Before you choose to buy a second hand Gibson, Ibanez or Yamaha ask around. As a buyer you have the right to ask questions to the merchant or seller. Found out how old the guitar is. How many times it has been played and why the person is selling the guitar. Sometimes you will find a real bargain as the original owner of such a guitar is selling it because the guitar is reminding him of his ex girlfriend or he spend a lot of money on a brand name guitar and don’t want to play the guitar anymore or maybe the owner needs a few bucks to cover his bills and other expenses. Do your homework before deciding to buy a brand name guitar.

If you are one who customizes guitars, than this rule doesn’t really mean anything.

The other option available to you is that you will get really good electric guitars at really low prices. You don’t have to buy a brand name like Yamaha, Gibson or Ibanez to get the same sound you are looking for. There are a lot of cheaper guitars out there that offers almost the same kind of quality sound.

When you think you found the perfect electric guitar and it fits your budget, just remember to play test it at the music store before you put your money on the counter. Some guitars that comes highly recommended and are admired by a majority of people may not be the perfect guitar for you. Jam for a few minutes and get the feel of the guitar. If the guitar feels right than you might have found the perfect guitar that will become your lifelong friend.

If your local music stores don’t offer cheap guitars or the right kind of electric guitar you are looking for, you can always try the internet. The internet provides a very large list of products and you will definitely find the right guitar in no time. Searching for guitars on sites like Amazon, eBay and Guitar Center, will improve your chances of finding a real bargain. These sites presents you with a lot of objective reviews about the product you want to purchase. You can also do a hunt on the internet for coupons and special discounts, which will also help you to attain a good quality electric guitar.

Keep the extras in mind as well. Some guitars will be accompanied by straps, guitar cases, guitar tuners and plectrums. Just make sure you are not paying too much for these extras, which will increase the price of your guitar. It is really important to review everything when buying a second hand guitar. Ask a professional guitarist to help you to find a real bargain as they know what to look for.

Finding a cheap electric guitar isn’t as hard as it seems. You will just have to do some searching and then research before opening your wallet.

Online video guitar lessons are one of the cheapest methods to learn to play the guitar, if not the cheapest option available. Many online video guitar lessons provides good structure, which starts with beginner guitar lessons up to advanced guitar lessons for guitar players with more experience.

Learning to play the guitar using books or printed materials is a very difficult endeavor for beginning guitar players. Printed lessons is not able to demonstrate guitar techniques and are not able to provide feedback and will only give information to beginning guitar players that is permanently printed inside its pages.

Using online video guitar lessons are beneficial as it will fill in the gaps that printed material will leave open. The internet is filled with online video guitar lessons. Some of them offers free guitar lessons and other provide lessons for a very low monthly fee. Some paying online video lessons provide experience tutors ranging from experienced teachers to professional guitarists. Many of them have a lot of experience to train new players as they learn to play the guitar.

This method of teaches has a lot of benefits. Online video lessons provide basic lessons from how to hold a guitar and a pick, how to string and tune a guitar and even how to properly strum and pick a guitar. Seeing how a motion or technique is being done by an experienced guitarist can improve a beginning guitar player’s technique quickly and more efficiently. They also provide much more advanced techniques which can be easily learned as the student can see how it is being done.

A student will not only learn how to perform a certain trick or technique but will also be able to hear how it is supposed to sound. Watching a professional and experience guitar player performing tricks and techniques is the next best thing to hiring a private guitar tutor and best part is that it is much cheaper than a private tutor. Many video guitar lessons uses a variety of tutors to teach certain tricks and techniques, so a beginning guitar player will not learn only one kind of style but learns a variety of styles that can be advantageous for him/her to explore her own guitar style.

Free online video guitar lessons is not so beneficial as sites that is asking a small fee as free online video guitar lessons can use advanced terms that can be difficult for a beginner guitar player to understand. Paying sites normally have a program for students. These programs start at beginner level and will teach the student the basics and uses simple terms, which the student will understand and as the lessons progress, teaches the student more advanced tricks and techniques with more advanced terms which the student will understand. One other benefit of using paying online lessons is that after you have finished the program you will play the guitar like a professional. You are also able to stop your monthly payment when you feel you have learned enough.

Most of the paying online video lessons websites update their lessons regularly which mean that a student will always learn the latest tricks and techniques. Another benefit of using online video lessons is that the student are able to watch the video’s whenever he or she wants and can learn at his or her pace, which is beneficial to people that have a family or who don’t have time for private tutors with fixed schedules.

There is one important question you will have to ask yourself before you start with your left handed guitar lessons. Should I play guitar left handed or should I try right handed?

If you haven’t bought a guitar yet, you can go out and search for a left hander guitar. They can be pricier than right handed guitars as they are very rare. You might find it difficult to find the perfect left handed guitar as many guitar shops only stock one or two kinds of left hander guitars. Many guitar lessons will teach the beginner guitarist in right hand. If you already bought a right hander guitar, don’t worry. You can flip the guitar over, re-string the guitar en voila, you have a left hander guitar. This trick is the cheapest option but I recommend buying yourself a left hander guitar if your mind is set on playing the guitar with your left hand.

As a left handed guitar player, you basically have two options

The first option is to learn to play the guitar with your right hand. This choice can slow down your guitar learning speed, but at the end it will be advantageous as many tabs, chords and instruments are made for right handed players. Almost everything for guitar is made for the right handed player and the bulk of guitars are right handed. Most learning material is also marketed for right handed players.

You can try playing guitar with your right hand for a few weeks but after that time you still find it difficult to play with your right hand than I would suggest changing to the next option.

Play guitar with your left hand

For left handed players there are just as much resources as for right handed players. The only difference is that you need to reverse the visual elements as you come across them. This can be very challenging to a left handed player. Learning this from the start will help the player as it this challenge will not be a problem and the player will be able to absorb the material with no more problem that their right handed counterparts.

Although many tutors teach right handed guitar, there is also tutors that teach guitar with their left hand. The only problem is that they are hard to find. They do exist. They must be found. Some online guitar lessons, that is asking a monthly fee, will have the resources and tutors to teach guitar using the left hand.

There are many left handed guitarists out there, so there is no reason not to learn to play the guitar for left handed guitarists. Left handed guitarists have some advantages playing on a guitar designed for a right handed person. They normally pick up chords and complex fingering very easy due to their coordinated hand.

It is not ideal to be a left handed player as the world is built for right handed people. Playing the guitar is no different to the rest of the world. To be a left handed player doesn’t mean you can’t be a great guitarist. You will just need find a tutor providing left handed guitar lessons or will have to translate the material from right handed to left handed.

There are literary hundreds of websites on the internet that provides excellent guitar lessons. Many of them offers free guitar lessons while other provides lessons for a small monthly payment. If you decide to take on guitar lessons on line, you first have to decide how serious you are about guitar lessons.

Fee On Line Guitar Lessons

You will have to keep in mind that free on line guitar lessons will not be beneficial as these sites will not provide all relevant material for you to successfully master the guitar. Free on line lessons will just cover the top scoop of guitar lessons and you will still need to pay a private tutor, buy a DVD or book or even pay an on line guitar tutor to really help you to satisfy your guitar needs.

Using a Private Tutor

Using a private tutor will be very helpful if you really need that personal attention to get the most out of your guitar lessons. One con about private tutors is that they are not as cheap and you will get away with anything from $30 to $55 per lesson which can be hard on many of the beginning guitarist’s wallet.

DVD’s And Books

There are also many DVD's and books available to buy that will also teach you to play the guitar, but with books, you will not be able to see a professional at action and see what they are doing. A DVD can also be beneficial but, as many of us know, a DVD will get scratches or disappear without a trace and then you will have to buy a new DVD which can also become a expensive option.

On Line Guitar Lessons

With as little as $15 a month, you will get the most out of on line guitar lessons. You will most definitely be supplied with a step-by-step course which will begin at beginners or novice lessons up to advanced lessons. You will get high quality videos which you will be able to play over and over again to really learn that trick that you always wanted to learn.

On line guitar lessons are thus the best way to get your guitar career up and running. While it is not only the cheapest option for any beginner guitarist, you will be able to access the site any time of day of night to get a lesson. Take a lesson or two while you are on lunch at work, sitting at home, bored to death or just feeling the music calling you. You can learn at your own pace. You don’t have to learn a certain lessons buy the next meeting. You can learn to play as you see fit. You will never need to worry about learning a lesson by the next time you log on to the tutor’s site or pay a small fortune for guitar lessons.

Just make certain that the tutor that is providing you guitar lessons on the internet is legit and has relevant experience. Most of them have an ‘About Us’ page where you will be able to get this kind of information. They will also provide you with contact details so that you are able to contact them, which tells that they are legit and available should you require assistance on their website or if you require any details or information.

As a country guitar player myself, I love the idea of rhythm guitar. To many guitarists, it can be a ‘boring’ style to play, but one thing is for certain, rhythm guitar style has always been popular, is still and I guarantee you it will always be.

Rhythm is normally used to keep beat and to support the singer. It is normally associated with acoustic guitar but it can be played with many types of guitars and in all genres’. Have you ever seen a guitarist taps his or her foot on stage? Well, that guitarist would normally be the rhythm guitarist as his/her strumming has to be kept in beat with the drums and the song. We can say that if drumming is the heart beat of a band, rhythm is the blood flowing in the veins on the beat of the heart.

Strumming can be difficult for a beginner guitarist as certain strings mustn’t be played when playing certain keys i.e. playing D-key, the top two strings (bass strings) on the guitar must be silent and not be played. Some strings must be strummed harder than other.
As you can see, there are a few things to keep in mind when playing rhythm, but believe me; it may not be as hard to learn as you might think. It really comes naturally when you have learned the basics. One of the advantages of practicing rhythm and getting it right is that your solo playing skills will improve.

Another thing that you must remember when playing rhythm is that you strum with your wrist and not your elbow. Many beginners will include their elbows when strumming and that is taking it just a little bit too far. It’s all in the wrist. I just remembered one of the Karate Kid movies, hehe.

You might find it difficult in the beginning to play rhythm, so I am advising that you first strum slowly but keeping tempo and as you starting to get the feeling you can increase your strumming speed until you’re on the point that your tempo is the same as the original song.

Rhythm guitar will also enable you to write, play and compose your own song, and who knows, you might be able to write the next country song hit or rock hit that will take the world by storm.

Many online guitar instructors are able to teach beginner guitarists to play rhythm on their acoustic or electric guitar. At the end of the day, it is up to you and your commitment towards your lessons that will define you as a good guitarist or a great guitarist.

Everyone is able to play the guitar and it is not only available to those who have a borne talent to be a musician. Like everything else, it takes practice, dedication, commitment and the right mindset to succeed. If you think that you will never be able to play the guitar, because you feel you don’t have the time or the passion and commitment then I can tell you one thing, you will never be able to play the guitar.

With the right mindset and attitude, anyone can become a successful musician and to make it much easier, there is a lot of online guitar instructors out there that will be able to help make your dream come true. Just believe in yourself and I guarantee you, you will be successful.

Finding country guitar tabs can be somewhat difficult if you don’t know where to look for some easy to more advanced tabs. Country music is one of the easiest genres to play on a guitar and finding country guitar tabs should also be easy.

Although this article doesn’t list places where you can find tabs, it can provide some good information on where and how to find guitar tabs.

First of all, you can search the internet. The internet provides hundreds of websites with relevant information and guitar chords and tabs but they are, most of the time, filled with banners and pop up adverts. As a guitar player myself, I regularly search the internet for guitar tabs and chords about my favorite country songs by many country musicians, but I normally get fed up with pop up ads and banner ads. Not only is it irritating to the person looking for chords, it slows down the chords page when you open it up, especially when you are in a hurry to get the page open.

Musicians and upcoming musicians submit chords and tabs to these sites. To make things much more worse, most of these websites’ chords and tabs aren’t perfect which means that it is very bad and you will have to have a bit of chord and tab experience to figure out how the chords fits with the lyrics of the song. Many songs only show the first few words of each sentence which means you will have the lyrics memorized to play the song.

Other sites’ guitar chords and tabs are poorly written which means that the change in key is not situated above the correct word in the lyrics and when you play the song, it will not sound right.

The upside of searching the internet for guitar chords and lyrics is that you will have access to a wide variety of guitar chords and tabs. Some sites offer only country music, other rock and metal while others offer blues guitar chords but a lot of sites, provides guitar chords and tabs for all genres. You will have easy access to these chords and tabs, but you will have to keep in mind that the song you are looking for aren’t 100% perfect and you will need to use your own initiative to make a few changes to the chords and tabs to make it sound good.

The best option would be eBooks or normal books that you can rent from your local library or buy from the local music store or even online. Perfect care was taken when these books was put together. Professional musicians compiled these books and it is very easy to find a book in the genre you are searching for.

You will find books that are perfect for the beginner as they contain information to help the beginner guitarist with a few tips and tricks and then you will also find books for the intermediate and advanced guitarist, with more difficult chords and tabs.

Finding the country guitar tabs and chords are very easy. You will just have to decide if you want to choose the free options, which comes with a small prize or you can spend a few bucks and buy eBooks or normal books which will be the best option for any type of guitarist, from beginners' level to advance.

Alright, you have decided that you want to learn to play the guitar. You bought yourself a good quality Ibanez or Yamaha acoustic or electric guitar. You got all the gadgets associated with your shiny new guitar from a guitar tuner to a very expensive guitar case, but you don’t know where to turn to start your guitar career.

You looked in the yellow pages and found a few tutors that give private guitar lessons. But is it really worth the trouble and money to go for private guitar lessons?

Using tutors offering private guitar lessons has it upsides and it downsides. In a few cases, the upside can sometimes be the downside. Without any further a due let’s dig into the pros and cons of private guitar lessons.

Let’s start off with the pros of using a private tutor.

Private guitar lessons can give you the extra edge you will need to fully develop your guitar skills. One of the many upsides of using a private tutor is that you will get the individual attention you want and might need. You will be able to ask questions and the tutor will tell you immediately what you are doing wrong and what you are doing right.

The other upside when taking private guitar lessons is that you have a weekly schedule. You will most likely get a weekly task or a piece of training which you will have to complete before your next visit to the tutor. This way, you are being forced to stay committed to your guitar training and it will allow you to successfully master the guitar in a few months.

Using multiple local guitar tutors can also be beneficial as you will be able to learn different kinds of styles and genre’s from all of these tutors. This will enable you to play rock, metal, country, alternative, blues etc.

The cons of using tutors can be as follows.

While private guitar tutors will give you the individual attention you require, they can be a very expensive option on your road to becoming a successful musician. Let’s face it, for many of these tutors it is the only thing they do. It is a job to them. They have a few classes and with the current economic status, everyone is looking for a way to make a few extra pennies. A tutor that comes highly recommended is asking a lot of money as they know their classes are top of the range.

The other downside of using a tutor is the strict schedule. Say for example you have only an hour or so before your class starts and something important has come up and you are not able to attend the tutor class. You can reschedule or cancel the class for that week, but I guarantee you, the tutor is going to charge you for that lesson which you couldn’t make.

Some tutors aren’t that experienced and you will get confused by the different kinds of techniques they try to teach you. Some tutors can only teach you one or two genre’s which you are not interested in. Say for example you want to learn metal or rock, but the only tutor you can find that fits your wallet, can only teach you blues or country music. At the end of the day, you will pay for and learn a genre which you have no interest in and this can lead to the quick demise of your guitar career.

Before applying for private guitar lessons, make sure what kind of guitar lessons you are looking for and how those lessons will fit into your lifestyle and most importantly, your wallet.

Remember, there is a lot of different kinds of teaching methods out there, that ranges from instructional DVD’s to private online guitar lessons. So make a wise decision on what will work best for you.

Fingerstyle or finger picking, as it is commonly referred to, is one of the most difficult techniques that can be practiced on a guitar. This technique cannot be faked as it comes down to you, the guitar strings and wood. It is somewhat surprising to find that fingerstyle are not commonly taught in guitar lessons. In the old days, finger picking was part of playing a guitar as headphones are to a MP3 player or an iPod.

Practicing fingerstyle takes a lot of effort, dedication and patience but after you have mastered this technique, you will be able to provide listeners with an enjoyable sound style which is so much more than basic chords and strumming.

Acoustic guitars are commonly associated with fingerstyle techniques as these guitars represent an “earthy” and a pure kind of guitar playing. Many guitar players find themselves looking to improve their guitar playing experience and realize that fingerstyle playing offers just that.

It takes a lot of effort, dedication and patience to practice the patterns. You will have to slow everything down to allow your brain to record what you are doing perfectly. For this reason it is not enough just to practice, but you have to practice it perfectly. By slowing down you will be able to rehearse the material accurately which is a crucial aspect when you want to get good on guitar or any musical instrument for that matter. Therefore it takes a lot of patience but, as you will found out, will be well worth all the effort.

Fingerstyle are also popular on electric guitars as well. Many new styles and sounds was uncovered by mixing techniques from different kinds of guitar playing genre’s and when you combine these different blends of styles into your guitar playing, you are more likely to find your own unique guitar playing style and voice. This will certainly do a lot of wonderful things and you will be able to express yourself on the instrument and stand out from the crowd.

You will find that with fingerstyle you will be able to combine different kinds of effects such as chorus settings and delays to create some unique sounds. You can create your own sound and style by mixing fingerstyle guitar playing with an electric guitar and electronics.

Many guitar players out there found that finger picking can be an enjoyable process after boring themselves with just strumming and progressions. Mastering fingerstyle comes with the promise of ‘how to really play guitar’ and also with the ability to combine melodic lines with bass and harmony and are sometimes the final goal that students are looking for.

One way to discover the different kind of fingerstyles, is to simply listen to artists who have mastered this technique. Unfortunately, you will not be able to learn in this way, but it will give an idea of the different kinds of techniques and sounds available. This way you will be able to decide which genre of fingerstyle guitar you wish to learn and master.

Before entering into the art of fingerstyle, you will first have to make a solid commitment to the technique and the time it will take to master this style. Don’t expect that you will be able to learn this technique overnight, but start slowly and work your way up until you have mastered this technique.
